PalmOne Releases New "Mobile Manager" Line of Devices
PalmOne announced a new "mobile manager" type of handheld earlier today, and according to PC Magazine, Amazon accidentaly posted a page that the first product in the category will be called the "LifeDrive". From what we can tell, the Mobile Manager will be along the lines of an iPod with more robust organizer capabilities, as the press release says that the devices will be for people who want to carry all of their important data around with them, and will be able to "carry dozens of documents and hundreds of songs," or "carry a thousand-plus photos and videos."
According to a leaked page on Amazon, the LifeDrive will feature both Bluetooth and WiFi for wireless connectivity, and a SD memory card slot for additional removable storage. Hardware specs include a 320x480 color display and a 416MHz Intel XScale processor. The LifeDrive will also let you drag and drop files onto the device in a "drive mode" where the device will appear as a hard drive on the PC. Amazon is also reporting that the device will be available May 18th and will sell for $499.99.
